BOVEY TRACEY 0 FALMOUTH TOWN 8
(Phil Hiscox)
Falmouth Town secured 3rd place in the Premier Division after beating Bovey Tracey by an 8-0 scoreline in the final game in the league this season. The visitors led from just the 2nd minute when Dan Green shot home and were 3-0 to thye good by the break as Jamie Mudge and Matt Drummond both found the target. Drumond added a 4th nine minutes into the second half and in the 69th minute a Mark Vercesi penalty made it 5-0. The scoreline was give an even more flattering scoreline as the visitors scored 3 times in the last 5 minutes to go from 5 to 8 goals with Matt Drummond scoring each one to end the game with a 5 goal personal haul. Reporters Summary : A lovely summers afternoon was a welcome end to the last month of wet weather and saw the league campaign finish ahead of a well deserved 3 month break.

Devon Premier Cup Final (At Devon FA)
Liverton United 3 Stoke Gabriel 2
(Phil Hiscox)
Liverton United completed a league and county cup "double" as they retained the Devon Premier Cup with a thrilling 3-2 win over Stoke Gabriel. On a heavy but well prepared pitch at Devon FA it was the visitors who drew first blood when former Liverton player Danny Broadway punisheda keeping error to give Stoke a 7th minute lead. Liverton soon responded and drew level after just 18 minutes with Simon Laughton shooting through a crowded box to score. Stoke Gabriel then restored the lead on the half hour when Broadway was again on target which meant Stoke held a slender advantage at the break. The second half saw two goals in 4 minutes around the hour mark which turned the tie in Livertons favour with first Tom Sercombe heading the sides level from a corner kick and then Robbie Bowker scoring from the penalty spot to give Liverton the lead for the first time. As time wore on both sides had half chances but no further goals came along and it was left to Liverton to receive the Cup at the final whistle. The sponsors gave Livertons Rob Farkins the Man of the Match award. Reporters Summary : A close cup tie between two sides who filled the top two in the East Division this year.
Premier Division :
Bodmin Town brought down the curtian on their magnificent season with a 3-0 win over Plymouth Parkway tonight. The Treble winning Bodmin side ensured a 100% home league record with the victory and the season also saw them set records for most wins, most wins on the trot, most goals and most points.
Wednesday 9th May
Round Up of Wednesday Nights Action :
The wet weather reduced tonights schedule of three matches to just one played. Both the Cornwall Charity Cup final and the Bovey Tracey versus Falmouth Town league match were washed out but Liskeard Athletic did get their game on and were rewarded with a 3-2 win over a Buckland Athletic side playing their final South West Peninsula League fixture as they head to pastures new next season. The result failed to alter either sides finishing positions in the Premier table.

CALLINGTON TOWN 3 VOSPERS OAK VILLA 2
(Phil Hiscox)
Callington scored an injury time winner to beat 10 man Vospers Oak Villa tonight in the last West Division fixture of the season. The 3-2 win for the home side means Godolphin Atlantic retain 4th spit and as such the final prize money position. Callington's win lifts them a place into the top 6 and came after a dramatic 2nd half at Marshfield Park. In fact only the first goal came in the opening 45 minutes when James Boon shot home from close range on 27 minutes to give Callington a 1-0 interval lead. 18 minutes into the second period and Carlton Farnham made it 2-0 and 5 minutes later the game looked over for Vospers when Connor Brimcombe was sent off for a 2nd yellow card. However the 10 man visitors rallied and reduced the arrears through Robbie Almond and then levelled the scores 10 minutes from time through James Honeywill. But just as they thought they had earnt the point they needed an injury time strike from Jaryd Woods won it for the home side. Reporters Summary : A niggly local derby saw the home side deny their near neighbours with a late, late winner.
Round Up of Tuesday nights other games :
Just two other matches tonight with one of them a 9 goal thriller ! Saltash United winning 5-4 away at Plymouth Parkway which ensures the Ashes will finish in the prize money positions, either 3rd or 4th, depending on how Falmouth Town fare in their last game on Wednesday night. The defeat means Parkway however will miss out and can finish no higher than 5th. In the East Division a Jamie Densham hat-trick helped Crediton United to a 5-1 win away at the University of Exeter in the last East Division match of the campaign. The win means Kyrton finish in 4th spot and deny Exmouth Town the last prize money position.

Throgmorton Cup Final
BODMIN TOWN 0 (6) BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 0 (5)
(Phil Hiscox)
Bodmin Town completed a treble of league, county cup and league cup after defeating Buckland Athletic by the slenderest of margins in this afternoons Cup Final. On a superb playing surface at Langsford Park, Tavistock and in front of a healthy 414 crowd the game went the full distance as the score at both 90 minutes and at 120 minutes was 0-0 meaning that Buckland did achieve one thing no other club, league or cup, has achieved this season, they stopped Bodmin Town from scoring. The game itself saw both giants of the league largely cancel each other out with few clear cut chances at either end although Buckland keeper Kenny Griffiths did pull off a fine save at the end of 90 minutes to force extra time and at the other end Dean Stevens saw a free kick whistle over the Bodmin Town crossbar. The penalty shoot out saw both sides fail to score 2 of the 5 original penalties as Miller and Griffiths both saved spot kicks and in sudden death the first two rounds were both scored meaning the 15th penalty missed by Buckland and the 16th scored by Lewis Reed, were the deciding moments in a marathon cup tie between the two best clubs to have played in the league since its inception five years ago. Reporters Summary : Penalties are always a hard way to lose and as such much credit to Buckland, but in the end the history books will show a first SWP treble going to the Priory Park club.

IVYBRIDGE TOWN 2 ELBURTON VILLA 1
(Phil Hiscox)
On a damp and heavy pitch at Erme Valley, Ivybridge Town signed off for the season with a 2-1 win over Elburton Villa which although welcome still leaves them in 19th place in the table. The Ivy's were 2 goals to the good by half time as Steve Sutton scored with an accurate low shot from a very tight angle after a quarter of an hour and then a minute from the break he made it 2-0 when he slid a shot low past the advancing Villa keeper Jeff Lee and into the net. After the break Elburton improved and put the Ivy's under some pressure but they held out until the last minute of the 90 when Mike Landricombes deflected shot made it 2-1 and although several minutes of injury time were added they were unable to force an equaliser. Reporters Summary : Ivybridges young side will take heart from the win that in the end meant they finished just 1 point behind St Blazey.

LIVERTON UNITED 7 SIDMOUTH TOWN 0
(Phil Hiscox)
East Division Champions Liverton United completed their league fixtures with a comfortable 7-0 win over a Sidmouth Town team who completed their maiden season at Step 7. The Halford based hosts opened the scoring after 14 minutes when Simon Lewcock lifted his shot over the advancing keeper Luke Ashford and into the empty net but that was the only goal of the opening third of the match which never looked being as one sided in the early exchanges, in fact only one more was scored before half time as Tom Sercombe netted from close range on 34 to make it 2-0 at the break. The 2nd half however saw a relaxed performance from the Champions and they scored 5 times without reply to run out convincing winners. Glenn Palmer after 47 made it 3-0 before Robbie Bowker scored twice on the trot in the 57th and 68th to make it 5-0 and then Darren Vicary got in on the act with a superb 73rd minute free kick and then he completed the scoring 6 minutes from time. This left Liverton on 99 league goals for the campaign but they failed to find the target to notch up their century before the final whistle. Reporters Summary : After the match league vice-chairman Mike Pett presented the Championship Cup & Medals, Liverton will be looking to gain more silverware on Thursday night when they go for a double as they face Stoke Gabriel in the Devon Premier Cup final.
Premier Division :
Four more top flight games were played today but the only outstanding issue of prize money for 3rd and 4th places remains unresolved. Falmouth Town could have ensured 3rd spot with a win but instead they were beaten 3-1 away at an Elburton Villa side who climbed a place to 11th. Falmouth also finished the game with 10 men as Tiverton Town player Kevin Hill guested for the visitors but failed to see out the game as he was red carded. Champions Bodmin Town completed their away matches with a 4-0 win at the Royal Marines which was the forces sides last game of league football as they now revert back to representative matches next season. Elsewhere Camelford had a welcome win to complete the season as they beat Liskeard Athletic 3-0 at Trefrew Park and Penzance ended on a welcome high with a 4-2 win at home to Cullompton Rangers to give the Magpies something to smile about after a torrid second half of the season.
Division One East :
The only remaining issue in the East is the 4th placed prize money and although not decided today it was at least a little clearer as Crediton United beat Totnes & Dartington 2-1 at home. Crediton will take the 4th place if they win at the University of Exeter on Tuesday night, if not Exmouth Town will collect the cheque. 3rd place was already confirmed for Galmpton United which was just as well as they surprisingly lost 2-3 at home to lowly Exeter Civil Service with the visitors climbing a place to 13th. Appledore also moved up, in their case to 12th, as they won 3-1 away at the University of Exeter to complete the double over the Students. With champions Liverton 7-0 winners over Sidmouth the only game left in the division is Tuesday nights University of Exeter v Crediton United fixture.
Division One West :
Just two matches played in the West Division today, but in fact only one more has to be played, that being Callington v Vospers on Tuesday night. Vospers were in action at home to Porthleven today and needed a win to secure 4th spot. They were however held to a 1-1 draw which means they will still need a point on Tuesday night. Penryn Athletic finished their league season with a 7-0 thrashing of Foxhole Stars at Kernick, they will look to take that form into Wednesday nights Charity Cup final against St Dennis at Priory Park, Bodmin.

TORPOINT ATHLETIC 0 PLYMOUTH PARKWAY 5
(Phil Hiscox)
Plymouth Parkway kept alive their hopes of finishing in the prize money with a comfortable 5-0 win away at Torpoint Athletic. The visitors were gifted the opening goal after just 38 seconds as home keeper Simon Zinn was caught in no mans land and Sam Hillson chipped him from 25 yards and into the vacant net. Parkway soon doubled the lead when a well struck shot from Lee Doel in the 18th minute made it 2-0 but thereafter the home side did tighten up and threatened to get themselves back into the game. The third goal did not arrive until just after the hour mark when Lee Doels shot was parried by Zinn only for John Wyatt to ram home the rebound. Torpoint came closest to scoring shortly after when Josh Grant, freshly home from America and on as a 2nd half substitute saw his shot beat Martin Piper but come back off the post. Two late goals added extra gloss to the visitors as Sam Hillson scored on 84 minutes with the home defence appealing for offside and in stoppage time Wyatt added his 2nd and made it 5-0. Reporters Summary : Parkway looked up for the game and feel they can still finish in the top 4 whilst Torpoint will be glad this was their last game as it was a 2nd 0-5 defeat in the space of the past 3 days.
Round Up of the Rest of Fridays Action :
Two other Premier matches saw away wins as Buckland Athletic came from behind to win 3-1 away at Launceston with in-form striker Chris Wright bagging a hat-trick. Launceston ended their season and will finish in either 5th or 6th spots depending on other results. Witheridge also ended their season and climbed a place to 13th in the process as they were 3-2 winners away at St Austell with Steve Ebdy scoring twice for the visitors. In the West Division there was just one match and that carried on the run of away wins as Callington Town were 4-1 victors at Wadebridge. Carlton Farnham scored twice for the away side whilst Wadebridge ended the game with 10 men after Dan Jennings was red carded.

Devon St Lukes Bowl Final
BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 4 TIVERTON TOWN 0
(Nigel Call)
Buckland retained the St Lukes Bowl with a dominant first half display against the higher league opposition. Buckland took the lead within 2 minutes when Josh Conanen clearance from Danny Gazes left wing cross rebounded off Chris Wright beyond Ryan Draper. The lead was extended on 11 minutes when again a left hand side cross, this time a perfect delivery from Simon Revell, was met with a deft header from Chris Wright. With 20 minutes gone, the game was effectively over as Liam Moseley rounded Ryan Draper and slotted the ball home for Bucklands third. Chris Wright had the chance to complete his hat trick on 25 minutes, but with too much time, he hesitated allowing Draper to save with his feet. Tivertons first and only chance of the first half came on 35 minutes when Josh Searle flashed a shot wide of Kenny Griffiths left hand post. With 2 minutes of first half stoppage time played, Buckland made sure they went in at the break 4 goals to the good, when Simon Revell fired a low shot from the left past Draper and into the opposite left hand side of the net. The half time break saw the introduction of the experienced Kevin Hill, which if anything stemmed the flow of goals, but provided no real turn around for Tiverton. With both teams using their full quota of substitutes during the half, the game dropped a pace with neither side exerting any more pressure onto there opponents goal. All that was left, was for Buckland captain Danny Lewis to receive the trophy from Devon County FA President Mervyn Benney. REPORTERS SUMMARY: In front of a crowd exceeding 260, Buckland said 'goodbye' to there home supporters for 2011/12 with a display in the first half that was one of the best seen at Homers Heath. Onto Mondays Cup Final and a totally different affair.

BODMIN TOWN 5 TORPOINT ATHLETIC 0
(Phil Hiscox)
Bodmin Town received the Premier Division Championship trophy after this 5-0 romp over Torpoint Athletic at Priory Park. The match itself failed to rise to any great heights as Bodmin controlled possession and the scoreline from very early on with Torpoint never able to consider spoiling the party. The lead was taken after just 9 minutes when Tom Chambers headed home from close range and by the 18th minute it was 2-0 with Ben Smallridge shooting low past Simon Zinn. Thats the way the scoring stayed until the game burst into life for 10 minutes midway through the second half with Sam Matthews scoring with a well placed shot followed by two quick fire goals in the 71st and 74th minutes from the leagues leading scorer Adam Carter. At the final whistle league chairman Mark Hayman praised the Bodmin squad for there record this season which has seen new benchmarks in terms of Wins, Goals and Points achieved and tonights win took them into 3 figures for points as they moved on 102. Reporters Summary : The league title was won long before tonight with much more important and hard fought victories. Tonight was more about Bodmins celebration for lifting the Championship for the 3rd time in 5 years.
Round Up of the Rest of Wednesdays Action :
Two other Premier Division games, plus one in both East and West were played tonight. In the top flight Camelford had a 1-0 win at home to St Austell with Mark Gusterson scoring the all important goal. Dartmouth completed their season as they played their final fixture at St Blazey and ended on a high note with a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Scott Dodgson, Luke Brown and John Young. In the East Division Alphington concluded their campaign with a 4-1 win at home to Teignmouth with leading scorer Matt Wonnacott amongst the scorers and in the West Division Callington Town had a 1-0 win at home to St Dennis with the games only goal of the game coming 20 minutes from time through Ryan Lucassi.

TAVISTOCK 3 WITHERIDGE 2
(Mark Hayman)
Tavistocks last game of the season saw them jump up 2 places into the top 10 after edging a 5 goal encounter. Steve Ebdy had given Witheridge a 5th minute lead with a sweetly struck 25 yard effort that beat Andy Meads all ends up with the home stopper notching up his 772nd appearance for the club on the night. The Lambs got back into the game in fortuitous circumstances as a daisy cutter from Ben Davies headed comfortably into the arms of keeper John Wannell but only the Withy Number 1 will know what happened as the ball somehow ended up nestling in the net after going through his legs on 28. Six minutes before the break and a good move up the left flank saw Brett Walton arrow in a low cross and Martyn Sullivan applied the deftest of touches to steer past a helpless, on this occasion, keeper. Tavvy games at this end of the season normally include a Glyn Hobbs goal and the bustling striker obliged on 52 with a low shot from the edge of the box that seemingly put the points in the bag of Ian Southcotts men at 3-1. The away team had other ideas as they grabbed a lifeline back into the game on 73, Jordan Charran saw his long range free kick rattle the crossbar and as the ball came loose Ebdy chipped it into the mixer and Dave Rowe headed the ball firmly home. One of the Witheridge players mothers did actually break into song at this point but to save the embarrassment we won't mention who she was but answers on a postcard to the Post Office at Crediton and she won't be appearing on Britains got talent with that voice, isn't that the case Mr Cole ? Reporters Summary: With the Langsford Park pitch in excellent condition considering the rain we have had, both sides huffed and puffed in another game that had that end of season feel about it, next up for Witheridge is a trip to St.Austell, as for Tavistock could it be the boys from Elland Road in July ?

TRURO CITY 2 PORTHLEVEN 0
(Phil Hiscox)
Truro City Reserves completed their season with a rather flattering 2-0 win at home to Porthleven tonight at Treyew Road. The White Tigers line-up saw first team manager Lee Hodges making a rare appearance on the pitch and he played the full 90 minutes marshalling a defence that collected a welcome clean sheet. The first half in particular lacked goal mouth action at either end and felt very much an end of season fixture although after the break the tempo picked up with the home side taking a 59th minute lead when Mike Vanes ball into the danger area deceived everyone, forwards and defenders, hit the far post and went in. As the game wore on it looked likely that Porthleven could fashion an equaliser and a minute from time they almost did when Jordan Adlard saw his free kick crash down off the underside of the crossbar but fine margins kept it out and then barely a minute later a lightening quick break from Danny Carne out of defence, one accurate sliderule pass to Scott Palmer and a neat finish made it 2-0. Reporters Summary : On another day this could well have been a draw but bad luck at one end was punished severly at the other for the home side to end the season with maximum points.

With the game at the University of Exeter, vercus Crediton United, the latest to be washed out by the weather only the game at Foxhayes was played tonight. In a dry first half on a remarkably well prepared pitch the two sides traded early goals as Shaun Densham headed the home side into a 5th minute lead and just 2 minutes later James Despard-Clark shot the visitors level. By half time the rain had started and the second half was a wet and miserable affair with both teams and the referee doing well to get the game finished in monsoon conditions. Reporters Summary : A draw was a fair result as both teams put in an honest shift on another wet and murky night.

STOKE GABRIEL 5 OTTERY ST MARY 1
(Phil Hiscox)
Stoke Gabriel needed a win in this their last league game of the season to secure Runners Up in the East Division, and possibly promotion to the Premier Division if Liverton are unable to get planning permission for lights. In truth the result was never in doubt as Ottery St Mary arrived having won just once all season and were no match for the home side who took the lead after just 2 minutes through Lloyd Clark. The 13th minute proved unlucky for the Ottery 'keeper who spilled Nick Miltons cross come shot into his own net and when Danny Broadway made it 3-0 midway through the first half the game was up. To be fair to the struggling Otters they didn't capiltulate and slowly dragged themselves back into the game as they kept out Stoke for the rest of the half and didn't score again until a 61st minute penalty kick allowed Broadway his 2nd goal of the afternoon. Late on Jake Allen pulled a goal back for the plucky visitors but the last word belonged to the home side with Mark Newbould netting the 5th and final goal. At the conclusion of the match league chairman Mark Hayman presented Stoke Gabriel with the Runners-Up trophy and the squad with their medals. Reporters Summary : The season for Stoke Gabriel and Champions Liverton United is far from over - on the pitch the two face each other in the Devon Premier Cup Final on May 10th and off the pitch the board have yet to rule on which of the two applicants will be Promoted to the Premier Division.
Premier Division :
The stand out result on the penultimate Saturday saw lowly Ivybridge Town earn the chance to get out of the bottom two as they closed the gap on Penzance by beating the Magpies by an incredible 9-2 scoreline at Erme Valley, the only time any Premier side has hit 9 goals in a match this season. If Penzance don't win their last game of the season next Saturday then Ivybridge can avoid finishing in a relegation spot if they win their last game on Tuesday night when they host Elburton Villa who themselves had a good away win today, 4-1 at Dartmouth. At the top of the table both the Champions and Runners Up collected more points with Bodmin Town 4-0 winners away at Witheridge whilst Buckland Athletic played their last home league game before their promotion and provided entertainment galore along with visiting Plymouth Parkway with a 5-3 scoreline at Homers Heath. The battle for 3rd and 4th places where prize money is paid is still undecided as 3rd place Falmouth Town were thwarted by the weather as there game at Bovey Tracey was postponed whilst 5th placed Launceston had no scheduled game and these ocurances should have played into the hands of 4th placed Saltash United but the Ashes failed to read the script and were beaten 2-3 at home by St Austell. Elsewhere Liskeard Athletic got back to winning ways with a narrow 3-2 win at home to Cullompton Rangers and Camelford had an equally tight 2-1 away win at Torpoint Athletic.
Division One East :
With Liverton inactive and Stoke Gabriel romping home in 2nd place with a 5-1 win over basement side Ottery St Mary the main focus was in the minor prize money positions. Galmpton United are now sure of 3rd place after they drew 1-1 away at one of their nearest challengers, Teignmouth with the dropped points also meaning that the Coombe Valley club can no longer achieve 4th spot. Exmouth Town who have finished their matches are in that position and can now only be dislodged by Crediton United who were 2-1 winners away at Budleigh Salterton this afternoon. If Crediton win their final 2 games they will take the final prize money position for themselves. Lower down the table 2 of the bottom 5 sides collected welcome wins with Appledore 2-1 winners at home to the University of Exeter and Exeter Civil Service climbed a place to 14th after a 3-1 home win over Sidmouth Town.
Division One West :
The West programme saw just 3 matches today as most sides have now completed their fixtures but one game in particular that was played had a huge bearing on the division. Champions Newquay played away at 3rd placed Penryn Athletic with the Peppermints running out 6-3 victors at Kernick to end the season with an incredible away record of 16 games played and 16 games on the road won ! The result had more influence on others as well as the defeat means Penryn Athletic have to settle for 3rd place and inactive Helston Athletic are confirmed as Runners-Up in only their first season in the league. The only issue still to be decided is 4th place with Godolphin in that place but having finished the season and Vospers able to over-take them with 1 win or 2 draws in their last 2 matches. Elsewhere Callington Town were 3-1 winners away at Dobwalls which lifts them a place to 7th and Porthleven had a welcome 3-2 home win over St visiting Dennis .
Wednesday 25th April
Round Up of tonights action :
The heavy and prolonged rain put paid to three of tonights five scheduled games including the match at Priory Park which would have seen Bodmin Town presented with the Championship trophy, that will now be next Wednesday versus Torpoint. Also falling victim to the weather were the only Division one matches, at Alphington in the East and at Callington in the West. The two games that did survive both saw away top division wins for Falmouth Town and Tavistock. Falmouth were 3-2 winners away at Camelford with Dan Green scoring twice and the 3 points helping Falmouth move back into 3rd place. Tavistock also moved up a place, in their case to 10th, after a 6-2 win away at St Austell. The lambs had Glynn Hobbs netting a hat-trick and Jamie Ahearn a brace in their high scoring victory.

BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 6 LISKEARD ATHLETIC 0
(Phil Hiscox)
Buckland Athletic clinched Promotion to the Western League Premier Division in fine style as they beat former Western League Champions Liskeard Athletic 6-0 at Homers Heath tonight. The win means they are assured of runners-up in the Premier division and they were presented with the Cup and medals by Match Officials Director Keith Mann after the final whistle. The game itself saw the home side take a 6th minute lead through Chris Wright and they should have doubled the lead 12 minutes later when Liam Moseley was brought down in the box for a penalty kick but Dean Stevens saw his penalty saved by Sam Borthwick. Ten minutes later Stevens made amends when he made it 2-0 with a shot from wide on the right and before the break it was 3-0 as Chris Wright headed home. The second half was very much the Chris Wright show as he completed his hat-trick in the 54th minute to make it 4-0 and then scored twice more in the 77th and 79th to make it 6-0 for the Bucks of which Wright had notched five ! Reporters Summary : Buckland have over the past couple of years been an outstanding side in the league and although its sad to see them go they have earnt the right to play at Step 5 and they go with the league officers very best hopes for continued success.
Round Up of the Rest of Tuesday nights action :
Six more games were completed tonight with 3 other Premier matches seeing Saltash United climb into 3rd spot after a 4-0 home win over St Blazey with Luke Doddridge scoring a hat-trick for the Ashes despite coming on as a substitute. Launceston remain in with a chance of a top 4 finish after a pair of second half goals gave them a 2-0 win over Dartmouth at Pennygillam whilst Cullompton Rangers climbed a place to 15th after running out 6-0 winners away at lowly Ivybridge Town.
In the West Division Godolphin Atlantic completed their season with a 4-0 win at Foxhole Stars that lifts them into 4th spot but other teams results may yet mean they don't achieve the final prize money placing. St Dennis leap-frogged tonights visitors Wadebridge Town and also moved up to 8th in the table with a 3-2 win over the Bridgers and Truro City had a 2-1 home win against a Holsworthy side who were completing their fixtures for the season.

CREDITON UNITED 2 EXMOUTH TOWN 1
(Phil Hiscox)
Crediton United scored twice late on to come from behind to beat Exmouth Town 2-1 in a feisty and often ill tempered game at Lords Meadow. The opening goal came just after the half hour mark with Exmouth awarded a penalty following a foul by Danny Jones on the visitors Jamie Moore. The resultant spot kick being scored by Alaistair Sawer. Before half time an off the ball confrontation between home keeper Fred Tonkin and Town striker Khaled Badavi saw the visitors Badavi given a straight red card with the home custodian receiving a yellow, one of 6 handed out during the game. The second half saw the 10 men hang on until late in the game but with just a minute of normal time remaining Neil Pointing shot from distance, keeper Sandy Allen parried the shot but it fell to Johnny Bradford who tucked home the rebound. That was late drama enough but 2 minutes into stoppage time the home side grabbed an even later second goal through Richard Lamacraft to seal the 3 points. Reporters Summary : This was quite a frantic game played by two teams who each clearly wanted to win and although from a neutrals point of view a draw may have been fairer, football is about goals no matter how late in the game they come along.

HELSTON ATHLETIC 1 ST DENNIS 1
(Phil Hiscox)
Helston had only to win their last game of the season, at home, this afternoon to complete their maiden season with the runners up Cup but visitors St Dennis proved a hurdle too far and instead of champagne corks popping they will be busy storiing the ice instead as a 1-1 draw, coupled with a win for Penryn Athletic at Plymstock, means that they will have to hope Penryn fail to win their last 2 games, at home to both Newquay and Foxhole Stars. The visitors gave an early indication that they were not here just to make up the numbers when Scot Hill clipped the bar as early as the 18th minute but the home side had the best of the first half and eventually got the breakthrough on the stroke of half time when Charlie Youngs corner was headed home by Mark Goldsworthy, who will almost certainly win the divisions Golden Boot award. The second half however was just 4 minutes old when a defensive mix up allowed Carl Rickard to bring the scores level at 1-1 and then the home side seemed to get nervy, rarely producing sustained attacks and always on their guards for the visitors counter-attacks which looked just as likely to find a winning goal for themselves. In the end neither team made the breakthrough and only 1 team left the pitch satisfied with the point. Reporters Summary : Helston may yet still be runners-up, Penryn have a lot of work to do yet, but the Kellaway Park club will know that on the day they didn't do quite enough to earn the win themselves.
Premier Division :
Bodmin Town sealed the Peninsula Premier crown as expected today after beating lowly Penzance 6-0 at Penlee Park. Bodmin regain the title they last won in 2009 and become the first team to have won it on 3 occasions. The trophy presentation will be made after Wednesday nights home game with Plymouth Parkway. On the field Chris Luxton was the star of the show with a 2nd half hat-trick whilst Penzance fall one more place to 18th in the table and are just 1 goal shy of conceeding 100 this term. Buckland Athletic will have to wait a little longer to seal promotion to the Western League after they lost 2-4 away at Witheridge today, the mid-Devon hosts climbing a place to 13th on the back of an excellent 3 points. Bucklands next chance to earn the points necessary is on Tuesday when they entertain a Liskeard Athletic side that retained 7th spot by winning 4-2 away at Elburton Villa this afternoon. Falmouth Town remain in 3rd and with a mathematical chance of getting 2nd spot after a 5-0 win away at bottom club the Royal Marines today. Saltash United were 3-0 winners at Bovey Tracey in a lunchtime kick off and that was enough to lift the Ashes to 4th, the final prize money spot. Launceston slipped to 5th after losing 3-1 at home to 6th placed Plymouth Parkway. Elsewhere a trio of home sides had useful wins with Camelford ending a 6 game run without a win by beating Tavistock 2-1 at Trefrew Park, at Poltair a slender 1-0 margin was enough for St Austell to beat Cullompton Rangers and over at Blaise Park the hosts climbed a place to 17th as St Blazey beat Ivybridge Town 2-0.
Division One East
With Liverton, 1-0 winners away at Appledore this afternoon, already Champions the attention is on who will grab runners up spot and that looks likely, after an impressive win today, to be Stoke Gabriel. The Churchward Ground hosts had a good 5-1 home win over Crediton United which means a win in their final game of the season next Saturday will give them the 2nd spot. There opponents on the last day are bottom club Ottery St Mary who were the 17th and odd side out today. Galmpton United are the only team who can stop Stoke and they had a useful 3-1 win at home to Sidmouth Town that at least secores 3rd place. Exmouth Town in the 4th and final prize money position were held to a 1-1 draw at home by the University of Exeter which means Exmouth are not quite assured of that money just yet as Teignmouth could just overhaul them after they won 3-1 away at Okehampton Argyle today. Axminster Town completed there season with a 4-1 defeat away at Alphington but will escape the wooden spoon unless bottom side Ottery win their last game. Totnes & Dartington were 2-1 winners away at Exeter Civil Service with all the goals coming in the 2nd half and Newton Abbot Spurs and Budleigh Salterton had to be content with a point each after a 2-2 draw at the Recreation Ground.
Division One West
Champions Newquay maintained their perfect away record with a 5-0 win at Hayle that included a Glen Squires hat-trick and have just one game left to complete the season on the road. That trip is to Kernick next Saturday to play at Penryn Athletic in a game that Penryn must win if they are to stay in the hunt for Runners-up spot, only one side will prevail, and a draw would shatter both clubs efforts. Penryn set themselves up for that scenario by winning 3-2 away at Plymstock United whilst Helston were denied a win that would have given them 2nd spot as they drew 1-1 at home to St Dennis. A trio of sides all climbed a place in the table this afternoon with Truro City moving into 6th spot after drawing 1-1 at home to Vospers Oak Villa. Callington Town are upto 9th after a 4-1 home win over a Mousehole side who completed their season and ended bottom a point shy of Perranporth. Porthleven moved into 12th spot as reward for their 3-2 win away at Holsworthy, one of the longest trips in the division.

CALLINGTON TOWN 2 FOXHOLE STARS 0
(Phil Hiscox)
Callington gained maximum points as some reward for getting their game on tonight at a wet and heavy Marshfield Park. The 2-0 win over Foxhole Stars saw both an early goal and a very late winner with a fairly even game inbetween although the visitors rarely troubled the home defence. The opening goal came after just 7 minutes with Mike Lucas shooting home past Ryan Holland whilst the win was not sealed until as late as the 88th minute when substitute Gary Camps brought down Carlton Farnham to concede a penalty kick with Farnham picking himself up to take and score from the spot kick to seal the win. In between the two goals Callington created more chances in a game that was largely played in midfield but the visitors did threaten to get back on level terms on the hour mark when Richard Griffin was through one-on-one with home keeper Jamie Blatchford with the glovesman just managing to push Griffins effort wide of the post. Reporters Summary : Callington were full value for the win although they were made to work until the end to seal the result by a hard working Foxhole side.
Wednesday Nights Round-Up
Four other matches were played tonight, two in the Premier and two more in the West Division. In the top flight it was a good night for the two away sides as Saltash United ran out 5-1 winners at near neighbours, and previously in-form, Torpoint Athletic with Sam Hughes scoring twice for the Ashes who are stil in the hunt alongside Falmouth & Launceston for 3rd and 4th place prize money. Dartmouth who had to sit out last weekends action as they had been due to host Penzance showed that the break had done them no harm with a 4-2 win away at Tavistock with both Luke Brown and Lewis Young netting twice for the Darts. In the West division Penryn Athletic were 4-1 winners at home to Hayle, a result that keeps pressure on 2nd placed Helston but also makes the Kernick club well placed for 3rd placed money at worst. Gregg Hobbs scored twice against visiting Hayle. In the other match St Dennis recorded a 2-0 win at homec to Dobwalls that lifts them a place in the table to 11th. carl Rickard and Mark Rowe were both on target in the first half at Boscawen Park.

BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 3 FALMOUTH TOWN 2
(Phil Hiscox)
Buckland are just a maximum of 2 points away from securing promotion to the Western Premier after they defeated there only remaining rivals to 2nd spot, Falmouth Town. On a a wet and heavy pitch both sides are to be congratulated on producing a highly competitive match during which both sides held the lead. The Homers Heath hosts opened the scoring midway through the first half as Liam Moseley shot home low but Falmouth drew level on 31 minutes when Jamie Mudge chipped Kenny Griffiths for a fine equaliser. Half time was all level at 1-1 but the visitors took a 2-1 lead 11 minutes into the 2nd half when Jamie Devines shot was turned into his own net by Bucks defender Gary Fisher. Ten minutes later and it was all square again as Danny Gaze scored with a low drive from distance and just 3 minutes later the home side regained the lead when Chris Wrights through ball was tucked home by the impressive Moseley. Buckland need now just 2 points from 5 games to secure 2nd spot and will be looking to wrap it all up at Witheridge on Saturday in there next game. Reporters Summary : It was a shame such a wet night meant a smaller than expected crowd saw such a fine match, both teams, and the match officails, played there part in a great advert for the league.
Premier Division :
Bodmin Town are just one win away from securing the Premier title after a 3-1 win away at Liskeard Athletic tonight. Bodmin will expect to wrap it all up on Saturday when they travel to lowly Penzance in there next fixture. Elsewhere St Austell carried on there recent good form with a 3-1 win over lowly Ivybridge Town whilst Cullompton Rangers chalked up a 10th win of the season with a 2-1 home win over bottom side the Royal Marines who were playing there last away game. One game ended all square, Plymouth Parkway and Camelford sharing the spoils from a 1-1 draw at Bolitho Park.

EXETER CIVIL SERVICE 3 AXMINSTER TOWN 1
(Phil Hiscox)
Exeter Civil Service climbed a place to 14th after coming from behind to beat Axminster Town in Mondays only game. The visitors who sit just one place off the bottom took the lead after just 17 minutes when Tony Litchfield handled in the box and Justin Grinsell scored from the resultant spot kick. Civil drew the scores level before the break with Steve Morrish scoring with a superb shot from distance that gave stand in keeper Adam Cowling no chance. Five minutes after the break the Foxhayes club were in front when Danny Burwoods corner was hedaed home by James Clampin and with the light fading fast Civil wrapped it up with a third goal 19 minutes from time with Ollie Burns rounding the keeper and then scoring from an acute angle. Reporters Summary : Two of the bottom four sides in action, but a sporting match played which featured some well taken goals.

DOBWALLS 1 NEWQUAY 3
(Phil Hiscox)
Newquay continued their 100% away league record with this 3-1 win at Dobwalls this afternoon on a wet, murky and at times thundery afternoon in East Cornwall. The Lantoom Park pitch had required an inspection by match referee Gary Cornish before being declared fit for play with most of the crowd huddled in the stand or never far from an umbrella. On the pitch it took just 7 minutes for the West Champions to show as Lewis Hilton crossed and Luke Weldhen headed powerfully home for 1-0. The hosts then showed that they were in no mood for an end of season party as Martyn Hake hit his shot at the other end against the post just 2 minutes later. Midway through the half the Peppermints made it 2-0 with again Hilton providing the cross and Weldhen the finish but this time with his right foot rather than his head. Dobwalls then gave themselves hope before the break as Martyn Hake let fly from distance for the goal of the game to reduce the arrears at the interval. Any hopes however of a 2nd half recovery were dashed just 2 minutes after the re-start when Glen Squires went one on one with home keeper Tom Beman and Squires passed the ball under the advancing keeper for 3-1. Thats the way the scoreline stayed although the visitors twice hit the woodwork in the latter stages with Lewis Hilton firing against the post and substitute Paul Robertson seeing his chip over the keeper come back off the crossbar. As the game finished so the heavens opened meaning a damp presentation of Championship Cup and medals to the deserved Champions who when they dry out can look forward to Step 6 football in August for the first time in their history. Reporters Summary : The day was more about the Cup presentation and celebration than the match but Newquay equipped themselves well to keep there away run going whilst the weather tried its best to ruin the party.
Premier Division :
Both the main challengers at the top recorded wins as they close in on there respective targets. Leaders Bodmin Town were 3-0 winners away at Bovey Tracey and are now just 2 wins away from sealing the title, with games on Tuesday and Saturday that could all be wrapped up by next weekend. Buckland Athletic also had a comfortable win as they beat Camelford 4-0 at Homers Heath meaning that they are now a maximum 8 points away from securing 2nd spot and promotion to Step 5. Two of the main challengers to Buckland met at Bickland Park with Falmouth Town keeping their hopes alive, but more or less ending any hopes Plymouth Parkway may have had as Falmouth came from behind to win 2-1 with Dan Green scoring the winner. Launceston remain on course for the final prize money spot of 4th and today they ended St Blazeys recent revival with the Clarets winning 3-1 at Pennygillam over St Blazey who remain in 18th. The two sides below them both lost as Ivybridge Town in 19th went down 1-2 at home to Torpoint Athletic whilst bottom club Royal Marines lost 2-3 away at an Elburton Villa side who climbed a place to 11th with the win, the only side to move upward in the division today. Two mid-table clashes saw St Austell win 2-0 away at Witheridge whilst Tavistock and Liskeard Athletic had to settle for sharing the points as they drew 1-1 at Langsford Park.
Division One East :
Champions Liverton United saw an 11 match unbeaten league run going back to the 7th January ended as they lost 2-1 away at Totnes & Dartington this afternoon. With Liverton already assured of the title however the real interest laid in who will get 2nd spot and the fortunes of that changed hands today. Galmpton United were held at home by Teignmouth to a 3-3 draw whilst Stoke Gabriel edged a 3-2 win away at Appledore meaning that Stoke have it within their own hands to finish 2nd if they win their last 2 matches. The only other winners in the top 6 were Exmouth Town who look good for the 4th placed prize money after a 6-0 win away at bottom club Ottery St Mary. Newton Abbot Spurs were the only other winners today as they beat Sidmouth Town 3-1 at the Rec. The East Devon clash between Budleigh Salterton and Alphington ended all square with a 1-1 draw at Greenway Lane.
Division One West :
West Champions Newquay received the Championship Trophy after their 3-1 win away at Dobwalls but that was just one of six matches in the division today. Helston Athletic won 4-0 away at Foxhole Stars with Liam Eddy scoring twice which means Helston will be runners-up next Saturday if they can win their final fixture of the season at home to St Dennis. The only side who can stop Helston are Penryn Athletic and they kept alive the chance by beating bottom club Mousehole 3-1 at Kernick today. Mousehole will need a point in their final outing to avoid a bottom finish as Perranporth in 16th spot played and lost their final fixture of the season, the first club of the 54 to complete the season although not in the fashion they would have wanted as they lost 0-5 at home to Porthleven. Elsewhere 2 second half goals gave Wadebridge Town a 2-0 win at Holsworthy whilst St Dennis and Vospers Oak Villa collected a point each from a 1-1 draw at Boscawen Park.

CREDITON UNITED 2 EXETER CIVIL SERVICE 1
(Phil Hiscox)
Crediton United climbed one place to 7th after coming from a goal down to beat Exeter Civil Service 2-1 in an incident packed encounter at Lords Meadow. In front of a healthy crowd of 98 the first incident of note came in the 20th minute and saw Civil defender James Ibbeson suffer a serious puncture wound to his upper thigh, such was the extent of the bleeding that an ambulance was needed and play held up for 18 minutes. When it re-started it was the visitors who opened the scoring 9 minutes before the break when Ben Murbys cross was headed powerfully home by Chris Clarke. With the first half an hour old but still 4 minutes before the break Crediton drew level as Richard Groom scored with a low shot from close range to give a 1-1 half time score. The second half was just 6 minutes old when the hosts went in front as Richard Lamacrafts free kick ended in the back of the net although it appeared to take a deflection on its way into the net. After that the game became quite frantic and ill tempered for a while, midway through the 2nd period with both sides guilty of some forceful tackling this inevitably saw one incident go too far with the visitors reduced to 10 men after Danny Burwood was sent off for a 2nd yellow card after a foul on Kevin Pike. The latter stages saw the 10 men of Civil try to claim a point but the home defence kept them out to earn the win. Reporters Summary : This was quite a high paced and no holds barred local derby which unfortunatly saw both, in completly seperate incidents, a player taken to hospital and one team end with 10 men.

TAVISTOCK 2 BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 3
(Phil Hiscox)
Buckland Athletic moved to within 11 points of securing promotion to the Western League, with 7 games remaining, after recording a 3-2 win away at Tavistock tonight. Buckland were recording a 2nd away win in 3 days having won at Plymouth Parkway on Monday. The opening goal however came from the hosts as Jarryd Kelly fired Tavistock into a 14th minute lead but the Lambs failed to hold the lead for any length of time as Anthony Lynch fired the visitors level just 2 minutes later and by the 22nd minute the Bucks were 2-1 in front after Cameron Kelly was on target. Either side of half time the two teams traded own goals as first Jamie Ahearn scored past his own keeper to give the half time score of 1-3 but within 3 minutes of the re-start Liam Drew returned the compliment as he scored past his own custodian to make it 3-2 and that was the end of the scoring but not the end of the drama. Tavistock were reduced to 10 men shortly after when Glynn Hobbs made an ugly two footed challenge on Danny Lewis and was given a straight red card leaving his team mates to try and salvage a result whilst a man down. Reporters Summary : Whilst Buckland enjoyed plenty of first half chances and a 3-1 interval lead, they could have dropped points tonight as the hosts had a better 2nd half, but the handicap of playing with 10 men meant they were always going to find it tough to get a result.
Round up of Wednesday Nights Action :
Two other games in the Premier division included leaders Bodmin Town being in action and although they were 0-1 down to bottom club Royal Marines they had more than enough fire power and ran out 7-1 winners at Priory Park with both Adam Carter and Sam Matthews scoring twice. The win means Bodmin now need just 3 wins from there last 7 matches to secure the title. Elsewhere St Austell had a 2-0 home win over Liskeard Athletic at Poltair with the hosts climbing a place to 8th in the table. Ironically Liskeard lost this game which was a re-staging of the same contest earlier in the season when the referee retired injured and the Blues chose not to agree to a replacement with the score at that time 1-1. In the West Division there was just the one game and that saw Penryn Athletic keep alive there hopes of runners up spot with a 3-0 win at home to Callington Town. The Kernick hosts are now 11 points behind Helston in 2nd spot with 3 games in hand.

IVYBRIDGE TOWN 0 WITHERIDGE 3
(Phil Hiscox)
Ivybridge Town remain 4 points adrift of safety in 19th place after they failed to make the most of one of there games in hand on the sides above them, going down to a 0-3 defeat at home to Witheridge. The first half was a fairly even affair with scoring chances at a premium and the only goal of the opening half actually came from the hosts as Josh Zimmerman planted a firm, low and well placed header - past his own 'keeper Josh Oak for an own goal ! The second half saw the hosts force a couple of fine saves out of the visitors 'keeper which then allowed Witheridge the opportunity to seal the win as first Joe Byrne finished a well worked move to make it 2-0 in the 58th and then a minute or so from time the icing on the cake came when Steve Ebdy made it 3-0, the goal being the long serving Ebdys 100th career goal in the SWP, all 100 coming for Witheridge as a top division club. Reporters Summary : Ivybridge were rather subdued and failed to exert enough pressure on the visitors defence which in the end contributed to a straight forward away win for a Witheridge side who have now won 5 of there last 6 outings.
Division One West
Tonights only other action came in the form of a West Division fixture at Treyew Road where Truro City Reserves beat lowly Perranporth by a comfortable 5-0 margin which allows the White Tigers to climb one place in the table to 7th spot.

PLYMSTOCK UNITED 6 MOUSEHOLE 0
(Phil Hiscox)
Visiting Mousehole were held up in the bank holiday traffic making an early getaway from the Duchy as the less than ideal bank holiday weather gave all a good soaking. The kick off was put back to 3.30pm to assist but it failed to help the visitors as they went behind after just 11 minutes when Pete Bradley shot home low from close range. Quarter of an hour later it was 2-0 as Scott Rennies corner was headed home by James Yates for the only other goal of a fairly dry but very blustery first half. By the time the 2nd half started dry had been replaced by persisent rain and only few hardy souls huddled on the open to the elements touchline with others retiring to the clubhouse windows ! The game was wrapped up by 3 goals in a 6 minute spell midway through the half as Yates scored in both the 70th and 73rd minutes to claim a rare hat-trick, Pete Bradley scored his 2nd direct from a 75th minute free kick to make it 5 and with time running out it was 6-0 as Dan Edwards completed the scoring before referee Barry Jackson blew up dead on 90 minutes to enable all those present to run for cover on a miserable Easter Monday. Reporters Summary : The home side bounced back from Fridays defeat at Vospers to return to the top 6 whilst Mousehole will be glad to have got one of the furthest trips in the division out of the way for another season.
Cornwall Senior Cup Final
BODMIN TOWN 3 SALTASH UNITED 2
(Mark Hayman)
One down, two to go for the Priory Park club as they edged a 5 goal mud laddened encounter played in appallingly wet conditions at Newquays Mount Wise in the Cornwall Senior Cup Final. In horse racing terms the pitch would probably have been classed as 'soft and getting softer by the minute' after the Junior Cup Final had already taken place but in referee George Pattison common sense was to the fore as he took account of those worsening conditions and let the game flow. There were early shouts for a penalty after Towns Ollie Brokenshire went sprawling in the box after just 2 minutes but before those protests had calmed Town struck the opening goal as Man Of The Match Neil Slateford skipped inside Steve Sargison and drilled the ball past Ben Elphick. With 26 on the clock United gained a foothold back in the contest as a red attack wasn't dealt with and Aaron Cusack had ample time to steer the ball beyond Kevin Miller although Bodmin regained the lead 8 minutes later, albeit fortuitously. Brokenshires low cross to the edge of the area was going nowhere but Dan Bennett slipped as he attempted his clearance with the ball hitting his arm, there were no complaints from Saltash as Chris Luxton stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way from the spot. There was still more action to come for the soaked crowd as back came United on the stroke of half time, Luke Doddridge did the spade work wide on the right and his low cross was finished with aplomb by Ross Saint to end a 45 that was a credit to both sides. On 54 Town went back into the lead for a 3rd time as Slateford, who was a box of tricks all game, cut in on the angle and from just inside the area whipped in a low effort that flew past a transfixed Elphick into the far corner for what would ultimately be the winning effort. As time wore on United looked a spent force, too many times the long ball punted out of Elphicks hands merely took a bounce before either flying out for a goal kick or into the hands of the welcoming Miller as Bodmin took a stranglehold of the tie. Managers Kevin Hendy & Stuart Dudley simply didn't have any trump cards on the bench to change the course of the game as Steve Simmonds was presented with the Cup by President Brian Conyan MBE and Glynn Rowett of sponsors Westinsure. Reporters Summary: After such a long spell of dry weather it was typical that the rain came right on time as forecast but for the followers of Bodmin Town it mattered little as they made it 3 Senior Cup wins on the trot and with the Premier Division crown almost on board the treble is well within their grasp.
Round up of the Rest of Easter Mondays Action :
Three Premier and 1 East game were completed on this wet holiday Monday with some important scores around. Buckland Athletic took a huge step towards earning Promotion to the Westyern League as two second half goals from Cameron Kelly and Liam Moseley gave them a 2-0 win away at Plymouth Parkway. It was the Bolitho Park hosts who could, and together with Falmouth, can still push Buckland the most but the Homers Heath club now need just a maximum of 14 more points from their remaining 8 games to be sure of 2nd spot. This is good news for those looking over there shoulders at relegation and that most certainly includes Penzance who trekked the long journey to Cullompton Rangers this afternoon, just 1 place apart in the table but Cully chalked up an 8-0 thrashing over the badly out of form visitors. Penzance have let in 17 goals in 2 Easter fixtures. Cullompton on the other hand will enjoy holding the record of the highest home win in the Premier all season with the scoreline that was boosted by a 5 goal haul from James Blake. Haye Road, Elburton saw one more goal, 9 in total, but a far more even contest with Elburton beating Launceston 5-4 in a real nip and tuck affair. Villa heroes were the Landricombe brothers who scored all 5 of the hosts goals with Levi scoring 4 times and Mike once. In the East Division Galmpton United bounced back from Fridays first defeat of 2012 to beat Exmouth Town 1-0 and stay in contention for runners up spot, the all important goal coming from Ashley Hoare.
