Devon FA Step Seven Restructure Update
Application Deadline Passed
Well we have passed the 28th February and I can advise you that from our original 57 “Expressions of Interest”, we have now 40 applications for the 32 spaces that is available in the new Devon County Step Seven League, with two Clubs on standby should we go below the required 32 that we hope to finish with.
We now move into March and several clubs that have applied will now have a visit from our Ground Grading team to inspect and confirm that their grounds will meet the criteria required for Step Seven. It is hoped these dates will be announced later following this update.
Following their visit and the work completed or confirmed by the applicants we shall have a further list of Clubs in early April.
The new League Committee have their first meeting in the next few weeks and they will be working upon many of the issues that need addressing, such as League Rules, Sponsorship, Prize Money, Website, League set up requirements and many more items to review.
I have listed below a full list of the new Committee Members and I expect they may wish to add to the current list in due course.
I am pleased to advise the following volunteers have committed to supporting the new Devon County Step Seven League.
Chairman David Graham
Vice Chairman Dave Baskwill
League Secretary Neil Anthony
Treasurer David Richardson
Registrations Lorraine Duke
Fixtures Chris Cole
Ground Grading Mike Norman
Referee Support Keith Greenleaf
Charter Standard Dave Loder
Support will also be there from Devon County FA for the first couple of years whilst the League gets itself established.
More announcements will follow shortly following the first meeting of the League Committee.
